Anguilla + St Martin

A recap of our experience in Anguilla and St Martin last month…

A recap of our experience in Anguilla and St Martin last month…

We just got back from a trip down south to the islands of Anguilla and St Martin to check out entry requirements and two incredible Belmond properties - so here we are to recap all the details you need to let us send YOU there ;) Trust us, you wouldn't regret it. We certainly didn't!

PLUS - as proud members of the Bellini Club - we offer added amenities and perks that you can’t get on your own!

ARRIVAL + ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

WHAT YOU NEED:

  1. Travelers certificate for St Martin and Anguilla - this can be filled out online and then printed as proof of certification

  2. Negative Covid test taken no more that 5 days prior to arrival

  3. Proof of insurance

  4. Passport

Once you have those things, you are good to go! Hop on a flight to St Martin from wherever you are based (we flew Nashville -> ATL -> St Martin).

Once you arrive in Anguilla, the Anguilla government will administer at mandatory Covid test upon arrival at the Ferry Port.

This costs $500/couple and also covers the testing required to return to the US.

Belmond Cap Juluca

When you get to your resort, in our case Belmond Cap Juluca, you are required to quarantine in your room until your results come back in. Which typically is back by 6am the next day!

At Belmond Cap Juluca this was no problem at all. Because of the flight patterns + travel time, getting checked in and to your room before 5pm is nearly impossible. By the time you get to your beautiful oceanfront suite that leads right out onto the beach, you are served a phenomenal dinner on the private patio with a bar in your room before heading to bed!

The next morning, bright an early, you will receive your Covid test results and given a red bracelet to wear during your stay - this lets staff and other guests know you have been tested and are abiding by the laws in place on the island!

FUN FACT : Anguilla has only had 21 cases of Covid to date, and 0 deaths!

DAY 1:

We kicked off the vacation with a lovely breakfast and by checking out the beach.

Later we hoped on a Hobie Cat and sailed across some of the bluest water I have ever seen to lunch at Cap Juluca Beach Restaurant.

Later in the day the men took a boat out to go fishing + caught barracuda, along with other fish!

We spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out at the pool with Justin. Justin has been around forever… He even has a drink named after him - “Justin Time”

That night we enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Primm’s.

DAY 2

Day two rolled around and we had to check out the incredible yoga pavilion for a class.

After yoga we went on a scenic boat tour of the island, snorkeling and all. We stopped at Prickly Pear and had a BBQ beach lunch - HIGHLY recommend. You pay one price for everything included: beef, pork, lobster, and more!

Not Pictured: Dinner at Mangoes - 5-10 minutes from the resort. Oceanside!

FOODIE TIP: You have to have the Anguilla lobster when you are here, a local dish.

Day 3

Good Morning!!! We kicked off day 3 with paddle boarding, then got our Covid test needed to return to the US! We had a wonderful lunch by the pool before heading to Belmond La Samanna on St Martin!

Belmond La Samanna

We made it to St Martin! And more specifically - the incredible Belmond La Samanna - which we highly recommend. Our room opened up straight out onto the beach with sweeping views of the crystal blue waters.

That night we had dinner at L’Orsen - the flagship restaurant at La Samanna. The desserts were something else!

Day 4

It’s boat day!!! Today we took a boat around Tintamare, a deserted reserve, and got to snorkel with turtles!

The rest of the afternoon we spent on Pinel Island - lounging at The Yellow Bar and getting drinks while we soaked up the sun!

After an afternoon on Pinel Beach - it was time to boat back to La Samanna - shopping bags + all!

We enjoyed an island favorite - lobster - for dinner at Ocean 82 in Grand Case!

Day 5 - Last Day!

We had plans to snorkel today, but the tide was too rough around the reef, so instead we hung around the pool soaking up every ray of Caribbean sun we could before heading back to the states!

La Samanna did not disappoint… Until next time St Martin + Anguilla!
