Where Can I Travel This Summer?

By far, the most asked question in the travel industry right now is : “Where can I travel this summer?!” With good reason - we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel as vaccines are rolled out and destinations are starting to open up their tourism. We’re going to keep it short and sweet, and give you a basic rundown of where you can expect to be able to go this summer if you're looking for a last minute summer vacay.


THE UNITED STATES

There is so much to see stateside this summer. Whether you travel out west and hit up some National Parks, head to the beach, or to NYC for a weekend getaway! We have gotten really used to planning domestic vacations and have learned all about the countless options the US has to offer!


MEXICO

Mexico has been one of the easiest places to get to over the past year, and continues to be one of most popular destinations for all-inclusive luxury vacations. Go boating in Cabo, swim in the cenotes in Tulum, or soak up the sun on the Riviera Maya… whatever you decide on is the right answer ;)

Entry Requirements: No test for entry is required, testing for re-entrance to the US offered at most resorts.


CARIBBEAN

Most Caribbean islands have reopened to international tourists, with protocols in place. These protocols have been changing often due to the rise and fall of case count. Each island has a different set of entry requirements but most require a negative Covid test within 72 hours of arrival.

Islands open to US Tourists who test negative for Covid: Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, The Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, Cuba, Curacao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St. Maarten/St. Martin (the Dutch side), Turks + Caicos, U.S. Virgin Islands


EUROPE

Greece

GREECE IS OFFICIALLY OPEN!  All travelers (5+) must present a negative PCR test for entry OR proof of vaccination Restaurants will open for outdoor dining as of Monday, May 3, 2021..

France

As of June 9th, the President of France has announced its’ reopening that allows U.S. tourists to visit France if visitors present proof of vaccination!

Croatia

US tourists are permitted entry with evidence of an accommodation paid in advance + in full, prior to arrival. You must be vaccinated, recovered from COVID in the past 180 days, OR negative COVID test within 48 hours of arrival.

Italy

As of now, US tourists are permitted to enter Italy if you provide a negative molecular or rapid antigen test taken within the last 72 hours prior to entering AND enter Italy on a Covid-Tested flight!

Spain

SPAIN IS OPEN TO US TOURISTS!

“Effective June 7, 2021, vaccinated U.Ss citizens and their minor children can travel from the US to Spain. Minors over the age of 6 will have to test negative for COVID OR present proof of recovery in the past 90 days.”

Estonia

Effective February 2, the northern European country of Estonia has declared that those who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 can enter the country and avoid the 10-day quarantine and COVID-19 testing requirements.

Montenegro

Montenegro is allowing in vaccinated visitors from any country, including the US. Travelers must present either a negative PCR test from the previous 72 hours or proof that they received the second dose of a vaccine more than seven days before their arrival. 


Iceland

Iceland now allows entry to travelers that provide proof that they have been fully vaccinated, or passengers who have recently recovered from COVID.


Recap

Among the many things this pandemic has taught us travelers is that patience is a virtue. For now - US, Mexico, and the Caribbean are used to us visiting and have it down.

As we wait to see how European governments continue to respond to the coronavirus pandemic, we will need to hang onto a bit more patience.

So many of us cannot wait to get back to Europe, myself included, and we most certainly will. It has always just been a matter of when…
